HERE ARE THE THREE FACTORS THAT DECIDE WHETHER WE GET KOVID: The director of the Vinca Institute has revealed all about the important role of genes

Research conducted at the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences, as well as international studies, have shown that there is a genetic predisposition to covid-19. These are changes in several genes, which are most often found on different chromosomes and which increase the risk of disease.

Such changes are multifactorial diseases, which include cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases.

The fact that more than 100 of these diseases are common in the population shows the frequency with which they occur, explained the director of “Vinca”, who also pointed out other risk factors.

– The probability of contracting kovida-19 depends on three factors. From our genetic predisposition, the circumstances in which we live and the way we live – said Snezana Pajovic.

As he explained, circumstances involve environmental factors because the environment also affects whether the so-called bad genes that each of us have within the genome will manifest.

He noted that “external environmental factors can affect the expression of bad genes or their suppression.”

When it comes to the third factor, it is important how we eat, what bioactive components the food we eat contains, especially when it comes to antioxidants, how long we sleep and what our physical activity is.

– Quality of life is what can influence whether we increase or decrease our own risk of contracting kovida-19 – he emphasized.

Attention was also drawn to the importance of vitamin C – new research shows that using 500 milligrams of vitamin C as 1,000 to 4,000 units of vitamin D has been shown to be an exceptional preventative.

Blood groups and crown

The director of the “Vinca” Institute also commented on the influence of blood groups on kovid. He stated that research has shown, especially in Italy and Spain, that people who have blood type A are much more likely to get sick than those with blood type 0.

“This is explained by the fact that antigens, which are located on the membrane of erythrocytes, are proteins that are also encoded by genes,” he added, noting that this again leads to genetic levels because our blood groups are genetically determined.
