Head of the MOC: Orthodoxy as a whole had a rare cleric in the person of Irinej

The head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC), Stefan, sent a telegram of condolences to the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) on the occasion of the death of Patriarch Irinej.

According to the MIA agency, Stefan said that Irinej “carried his patriarchal cross and the cross of his spiritual flock with dignity and tranquility and in everything he tried to show that he was a worthy successor to his predecessors.

“Let me assure you, in these difficult times for your Church, on behalf of the Holy Synod of Bishops, the clergy, the monks and all the faithful children of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Archbishopric of Ohrid, in the sincere care of the Macedonian Orthodox people who sympathize with all those who mourn the death of the patriarch, Irinej ”, is stated in the telegram of condolences from the head of the MOC, which he sent to the Holy Synod of Bishops of the SOC.

Patriarch Irinej will be buried Sunday at the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

The Serbian government declared him for his death three days of mourning.
