“He was the kindest person in the world. This is so terrible …” said the sister of Milan Loncar, a young man of Serbian origin who was killed in Philadelphia on Wednesday night while walking a dog.

As she said, Milan was always smiling and friendly.

– He was disinterested and always smiling … So charismatic and kind – said his sister Jelena Lončar (27), who lived a few blocks from her brother who was brutally murdered in the middle of the street.

As he told the local media, he heard the news that his brother had been killed on the radio.

– My roommate immediately went to the place. He described what Milan was like to the police and asked if the injured young man had a small dog. When they said yes, he realized that Milan was hurt, says Jelena.

Milan Loncar, 25, was shot and killed near his home in Philadelphia on Wednesday after two men tried to rob him.

Surveillance camera footage shows a man with a pistol resting on his chest while another walked behind the victim and searched his pockets. Soon after, a shot was fired and the men fled.

The potter was shot in the chest and died half an hour later at the University Hospital.

His mobile phone and keys were found at the place of death, while his wallet remained at the house.

– I don’t know if he was the target or they wanted to rob him – says Jelena and adds:

– Why would I have a lot of cash while walking the dog? I do not understand…

The two of them, as he puts it, grew up in Wayne and Milan graduated from “Temple” in 2019, after which he got a job at a construction management company.

– Our school mourns the life that was interrupted in such a senseless way – said the dean of the faculty where Milan graduated.

Her mother, Amy Loncar, says she was “destroyed” after the tragedy.

– Life has just begun. He was employed for about a year, and the girl was supposed to move in with him soon, she says.

The victim’s uncle, Nikola Lončar, looked at the bloodstains on the sidewalk the next day, noting where the casing was obviously found. Someone put a lit candle nearby.

– He was very nice. I don’t think I would ever fight anyone – he said.
