My Strahinja did not deal with crime, he was the owner of the car lot, so it is quite normal that he did not even have security. I remember that he was deeply affected when the media began to link him to the murder of lawyer Mišo Ognjanović, who told me several times that he had nothing to do with that crime.
This was stated by his girlfriend, the Colombian Sonja Suárez Gómez (45), at the hearing on the occasion of the murder of Strahinja Stanojevic (30), which occurred on September 13 in Nuevo Belgrade.
Colombian Sonja Suárez Gómez (45), who was slightly injured in the jeep explosion in which her boyfriend died in Nuevo Belgrade on Sunday, stated at the hearing at the Belgrade Superior Prosecutor’s Office that “she was not afraid for her own safety” and that “he did not suspect he was in danger.”
According to “Kurir”, he allegedly told the prosecution that he was not hiding, as well as that he knew that he was uploading their joint photos on his Instagram profile, which is public and is followed by several dozen people.
Sonja also told the prosecutor that she met Strahinja last year at a party in Madrid, Spain.
– He was very kind, a true gentleman, we quickly started a love story. I remember we were together in France when he read on Serbian portals that he was linked to the murder of lawyer Mišo Ognjanović, who was liquidated in July 2018. Then he told me that only two weeks after the murder of the lawyer, he miraculously survived the explosion of the bomb. He was very upset when he told me that. He told me that only later did it become clear to him why someone wanted to blow it up, but that it had nothing to do with the murder of that lawyer – Sonja allegedly said in her testimony.
He also recounted the details of the explosion itself and said that no one was in the garage where Stojanović’s car was when they left the apartment.
– We got into the vehicle, everything was completely normal. We head towards Ušće, to watch car races. Shortly after hitting the street, the jeep exploded. Since then, I don’t remember all the details … It sounded in my head like I was half blind. I only remember well that Strahinja died in my arms. It is something I will never forget – said the Colombian.
By the way, the explosive was placed just under the driver’s seat in the car “BMW X5”, which Stojanović was driving. He died as a result of the explosion in the Emergency Center.
“I didn’t know he was the target”
Suárez Gómez attended the hearing accompanied by a lawyer and Stojanović’s mother, who was neither questioned nor summoned.
– Following her testimony to the police, Sonja was also questioned by the Superior Prosecutor’s Office, which is conducting an investigation into the liquidation. Taking into account that she has not separated from the deceased in the last six months, she explained that the two were moving normally both in Belgrade and throughout Serbia. She said Strahinja did not feel threatened at all and did not take any preventive action for fear of being a target, says the source, writes “Kurir”.
“We don’t hide”
During the hearing, which lasted almost four hours, he also discussed the photos with Strahinja, which he regularly posted on Instagram. Investigators were attracted by the fact that Stojanović’s movements could be followed on his profile, although it is known that he was also the target of a bomb attack in 2018.
– I did not reveal its location, it was no secret that I published our joint photos. We didn’t hide, we moved normally, we took photos together. Strahinja knew I was posting photos, he didn’t care or forbid me from posting joint photos, Sonja allegedly explained.
She also reportedly said that they visited restaurants and cafes without hiding, and that she “knew that Strahinja was in the auto trade.”
He was killed by a mercenary from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It should be remembered that Stojanović is suspected of being murdered by a hit man who came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is speculated that the motive was the liquidation of revenge for his participation in the death of the famous Belgrade lawyer Mišo Ognjanović, also a defense lawyer of Luka Bojović, leader of the Zemun clan.
Furthermore, Stojanović has been the target of assassins before, and in 2019, he miraculously survived a bomb blast planted under his jeep in the Galenika settlement. His then girlfriend from Spain, the former Miss Olac Bilbao González (22), was seriously injured at the time.
Strahinja was well known to the police, and in the media he was associated with the brothers Branislav and Slobodan Sharanovic of Montenegro, who were liquidated in a brutal mafia war that has been fought for years between Montenegrin clans. Stojanovic also appeared as a witness in the trial in the murder case of Nikola Bojovic, Luka Bojovic’s brother, who had been at war with the Saranovics for years.
