BELGRADE – By order of the Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office, after several months of prior investigation, police officers from the Ministry of the Interior, Police Directorate, Service for the Fight against Organized Crime arrested two people today: DJN, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Serbia for bribery and natural person D.Č. for the crime of bribery.
According to the prosecution, there are reasons to suspect that the suspect is DJN, from suspect D.Č. He received a monthly fee, the benefits promised in advance to assist in obtaining a contract in the public procurement procedure of the Ministry of Agriculture in the field of services, which is supported by a foreign fund for financing agriculture.
– The suspect DJN was promised the payment of benefits for an amount of about 1,000 euros per month, for the next two years, while the public procurement contract lasts. Searches are ongoing, the prosecution stated.
The suspects were detained by the police and will be transferred to the Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office with a criminal complaint.
