HORGOS – At the Horgos border crossing, customs officials, in cooperation with the police, prevented an attempted smuggling of hyaluronic fillers worth more than 3 million dinars.
The case was discovered around midnight when a Mercedes pickup with Viennese license plates arrived at the entrance to the country for regular control, towing a trailer with a used import vehicle.
When asked by customs officials if they had anything to report, Kovin’s 42-year-old driver and four of his companions said they had nothing but personal belongings, while the driver reported a used golf that he wanted to import.
A detailed check of the van determined that there were three cardboard boxes in the trunk, which the driver said was a shipment that he had taken to transport to Novi Sad, but was not familiar with its contents.
As soon as the boxes were opened, customs officials saw a handful of undeclared cosmetic products, hyaluronic fillers used for luxury cosmetic treatments, estimated to be worth 3,107,619 dinars.
It is about 510 cosmetic products of the brand “Princess”, as follows: 320 pieces of “Princess Filler 1ml”, 180 pieces of “Princess Volume 1ml” and 10 pieces of “Princess Rich 1ml”, which are used in cosmetology . for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle correction.
As the value of the merchandise is greater than the value of a third of the vehicle with which it was smuggled, the van was temporarily detained until the end of the misdemeanor proceeding, which increased the value of the misdemeanor, thus amounting to less than 3.7 million dinars. It should be recalled that customs officials foiled a nearly identical case on October 15 at the Batrovci border crossing, when a van full of unreported hyaluronic fillers and injections for non-invasive liposuction was discovered.
