In addition to Kontić, who is on the run, the proceedings against OL and LV are also being carried out on the suspicion that they participated in the fight, that is, they helped the suspect after committing the crime.
However, half an hour later, Miljan M. left the court building, as defense attorneys for OL and LV requested exemptions from the Superior and Appeals Prosecutors of Novi Sad, as well as from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which counted with the support of other defense attorneys for the two suspects.
Explaining why he decided on such a move, Goran Karadarevic, one of the defense attorneys for the two suspects, who are in custody, says he requested exemptions on suspicion of bias.
– This crime was first correctly classified as serious bodily injury and then, without special and new facts and evidence, reclassified as attempted murder. That proposal was also supported by colleagues with whom I am defending the two suspects – said Karadarevic.
The legal representative of the beaten Miljan, lawyer Miloš Paligorić, declined to comment after leaving the Novi Sad court building, stating that he had nothing to say.
