Petar Mošić (66) from Pancevo was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the brutal murder of his wife Desanka Mošić at the Pancevo bus station on July 12 last year.

The explanation of the decision, which was published on the website of the Court of Appeals, states that the fact that Mošić has not been previously convicted of constant, persistent and systematic abuse of his wife, does not mean that he respected public order and the law, but instead violated it, but remained unpunished, the court noted, noting that his previous conviction could not be considered as a mitigating circumstance.
The age and illness of the accused are not extenuating circumstances either, because they are in no way related to the crime he committed. From the aggravating circumstances, the court took into account that he committed the murder in a public place at noon, which, as the court points out, indicates his unscrupulousness.
He also killed his wife in front of a minor, indicating the defendant’s cruelty. Nine stabs in court indicate his brutality and, as the court reminds him, he did not express remorse even after committing the crime.
