In the tragedy that shook Zrenjanin, but also the whole of Serbia, Tito Novak (58) of Sutjeska and Veljko Vujaskovic (23, in the photo) of Neuzina lost their lives on Saturday. The two drowned in the lake of the pond “Sveti Nikola” in Neuzina, of whose workers they were.

It is presumed that Novak fell ill due to a heart attack, so he fell into the water. His younger colleague, although he couldn’t swim, jumped up to help him. Unfortunately, none of them surfaced.

By the way, the water is extremely deep in the place where the tragedy occurred.

The pond workers noticed a body floating in the lake and immediately reported it to the police. The Gendarmerie divers reacted and removed Novak’s body, and a little later Veljko’s was also found.

There is no official confirmation of this sequence of events, as the results of the autopsy are awaited.

Tito Novak left two children. Veljko Vujaskovic lived with his father and grandmother.
