The owner of the property in the village of Gornje Komarice was surprised this morning when he saw a bear with two teddy bears in his yard: he was quietly eating lamb from his flock. Aside from the owners’ commotion, even the oldest locals don’t recall that something similar happened in this part of Šumadija, just 12 km from Kragujevac.
The real media bomb was caused by a bear last year when it was first seen after 60 years, but it was also filmed by a camera in the Jarmenovci village area at the foot of Rudnik. When journalists christened “Šumadinac”, the bear walked for several weeks in the subsidiary villages near Lapovo, before being last seen in Rekovac.
Experts assume it came from Golija or Tara, but how it crossed the Ibar road is really unknown.
The bear with bears is an even bigger puzzle, especially in this part of Šumadija. The only mountain in the vicinity is Besnjaja, which is not a natural habitat for bears, and where the uninvited guests come from, experts will have to say in the days to come.
