The meeting between Prime Minister-designate Ana Brnabić and Serbian Patriotic Alliance leader Aleksandar Šapić in the Serbian government ended shortly after 10 a.m., and Šapić told reporters that he was satisfied with the conversation, but not he wanted to reveal if he would be part of the future government.

When asked by journalists if he would be in government, Šapić replied:

“I cannot tell you that now, it would be unfair because tonight is the session of the Presidency of the SNS, the party that has an absolute majority.”

Will SPAS enter the Government?

He said the talks he had with Brnabic were in line with the talks he had with President Aleksandar Vucic.

“They (SNS) will make their decision tonight, and after that we can discuss whether SPAS will be part of the government,” Sapic said.

He recalled the position that he transmitted even after the elections, that he is willing to be part of the majority if they agree on national issues, and that he will not be in government if an agreement is not reached, and that there will be no drama in that case.

“In the previous three months I was quite moderate, I did not come out with statements and assessments because I had nothing new to say and my attitude did not change,” said Sapic.

When asked if there is an area where he could contribute more, Šapić said that he would deny himself if he answered that question, because he had already pointed out that he had nothing to say now.

“I had good talks with the prime minister, as I had with President Vučić, I am satisfied with the talks,” Šapić said, adding that what will come of those talks will be seen.
