A total of 35 years in prison

In June this year, Sasa Vidovic and Aleksandar Bulatovic were sentenced by the Supreme Court of the Republika Srpska to a total of 35 years in prison for the murder of Miroslav Lazarevic in East Sarajevo.

According to the verdict, Vidović, Bulatović and another unknown person intercepted Lazarević with a stolen “BMW X5” SUV on 16 October 2016 and shot him with 24 rounds from an automatic rifle.

The indictment alleges that the two planned and organized the murder. While driving a “Golf 7”, the assassins intercepted Lazarević on Belgrade street, and when he slowed down a lying policeman, they fired 24 rounds at him with a 7.62mm caliber automatic rifle. Lazarevic was hit by several shots and was killed on the spot.

After the crime, Vidović and Bulatović fled to Sarajevo and set fire to the stolen “BMW” next to the building in Aleja lipa.

They left a rifle and two frames full of bullets in the vehicle, which caught fire. 26 bullets were activated due to the flames, endangering the lives of two girls who were in the apartment on the ground floor of the building. Flame-cracked windows and carpentry in J.Ć. and the NK garage door was damaged

Miroslav Lazarevic was considered one of the members of the East Sarajevo automafia group. After his assassination, revenge followed, so Zeljko Bulatovic, Aleksandra Bulatovic’s father, was killed in Novi Sad.

Associated with “clan of the scalp”

Some media previously reported that Vidović also worked for the Skaljar clan. It is related to the murder of one of the leaders of the Partizan fans, Aleksandar Stanković, named Sale Mutavi.

Stankovic was assassinated a few days earlier in an almost identical manner to Lazarevic. The assassins waited for the leader of “Grobar” in the wider center of Belgrade. Stankovic was in his “Audi” and slowed at the stoplight when two attackers jumped in front of him and fired a “machine gun”. He died on the spot from his injuries.

Vidović was also linked to the assassination attempt on Slobodan Kašćelan, who is considered the leader of the “Kavač clan”, in mid-June of the same year in Novi Sad. Kašćelan and his bodyguard Vladan Vucković were on the “audio”, and the attacker was shot by moving motorcycles. Vuckovic returned fire, which likely prevented the attackers from carrying out their plan to the end. However, a bullet went through Kašćelan’s body, close to his heart, while Vučković was wounded in the hip and leg.

Served five sentences

The director of the Foca Penitentiary, Siniša Golijanin, confirmed that inmate Sasa Vidović committed suicide by hanging and that on Tuesday the family took care of his body, two farewell letters and personal effects.

– Vidović committed suicide on Monday, and the police and the competent prosecutor were informed of everything. He has served his sentence at Foca Penitentiary five times so far and has never attempted suicide, Golijanin said.
