The Deputy Mayor, Goran Vesi, said today that in two days the use of protective masks was controlled in 125 public transport vehicles and that 15 complaints were drawn up for non-compliance with that protection measure.

At the Crisis Tab press conference, Vesi said that the intensified controls were carried out on vehicles on 52 urban lines, nine suburban lines and two minibus lines.

“Five applications have been drawn up for a legal person, five applications for a responsible person in a legal entity and five applications for a natural person, one of which is a train,” Vesi said. He stressed that drivers must wear masks, except where there are cabins on the bus.

Vesi said that as of July 30, 5,649 catering establishments had been inspected and that more than 183 over-the-counter applications and 105 over-the-counter applications for non-compliance had been filed with the court. As he said, he does not know if the misdemeanor courts have imposed any sanction on him, since they have no obligation to report on the matter.

He stated that it is noted that there are no profits from economic activities, but that the profits are in restaurants, at parties …

“This is very important, because we have to find a measure between protecting public health and making the economy work, because the economy has to work, because more than 100,000 people work in the service sector in Belgrade alone,” Vesi said.

He stressed that the economy should not be allowed to stop again and said it depends on everyone’s responsibility, with a call to protect protective measures.

“Until another shape is found, the mask is the only protection and we insist that the masks be used indoors.
