Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that this morning, in the area of the municipalities of Vršac and Novi Kneževac, from Vatina to the village of Majdan, the police arrested about 450 migrants who were outside the camps and reception centers.
According to the announcement from the Interior Ministry, Vulin stated that they will all be transferred to camps and reception centers, where they have been before.
Vulin, together with the Director of the Police, Vladimir Rebić, and the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, Vladimir Cucić, visited the police officers who this morning carried out the search for illegal immigrants on the territory of the municipality of Novi Kneževac.

“There were small children here, women, there were all those who should not and should not be outside our camps. We have to take care of their health, just as we have to take care of the health of all our citizens. “During this epidemic, no migrant should be outside the reception centers, where everything they need is provided, where medical care is also provided,” said the minister.
He pointed out that the members of the Interior Ministry take into account the dignity of every human being in Serbia, but also that they must take into account the laws and regulations that apply in the Republic of Serbia, because the law is the same for everyone.
“We believe that in this way we have improved security in this area and, of course, that the Interior Ministry will do everything possible to respect the law in Serbia and that our daily way of life will not be altered in any way,” he concluded. Vulin.
Novi Kneževac Municipality President Radovan Uverić thanked Minister Vulin, Police Director Vladimir Rebić and all the police officers who carried out this morning’s action in Novi Kneževac Municipality, in the villages of Majdan and Arab.
Uverić said such action is of great importance to this municipality, as well as looking forward to similar cooperation, if the migrants meet again in greater numbers.
