Borisav Bora Kostić (76) from the village of Lalinac in Svrljig did not commit suicide, but was brutally murdered. As Kurir finds out, the investigation determined that Kostić did not cut himself on the neck with a knife, but was killed and probably robbed!
Kostic was found dead in his home on Wednesday and was believed to have committed suicide. However, two days later, there was a turnaround in the investigation.
– The investigation and autopsy determined that he was brutally murdered. The police will have to investigate in several directions. The fact is that the door was locked and there was no search. Apparently the killer, or more of them, knew Bora well, so they let him into the house late at night. The killer knew where Bora was keeping the money, because there was no search, and he liquidated it immediately, says a Kurir source from the investigation.
According to the findings of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Nis, the wounds on Bora’s hands indicate that she tried to protect herself and fought with the killer, but still managed to stab him in the carotid, causing him to quickly bled. The killer then disappeared with the loot, under cover of night.
– He was a good friend. We worked together for almost twenty years at the Svrljig tannery. He built a house in the village and in Svrljig. He had a rich house, property, a tractor and other machinery, but when his father and wife died, he sold almost everything and came to live here in the village. He was not in conflict or fighting with anyone, and the sole motive for the crime could be robbery, says Bora’s work colleague Bora Markovic.
At first, no one believed that Bora committed suicide, and now everyone is sure that she paid for her wealth with her head.
– You know that there is no wedding in our town without a guide. Well, that’s the case with you and Bora. The pimp groped him, knowing he had money, and the executors did a dirty job, says Mile Đošić.
Two unsolved murders
According to locals, it is up to the police to solve the dilemma of whether Bora’s murder will remain unsolved, as well as the two previous cases in the villages of Galibabinac and Mergelat in Svrljig. – The hosts also lived there alone and were killed because of the robbery, and the murderers were not discovered – they say.
Unofficially it is known that Bora kept some of the money in the bank, but the locals say that her wallet was always full of money, she did not keep anything. They say he was stingy, according to his own.
– When his wife died, he withdrew from Svrljig to the village, but allegedly took his daughter, son-in-law and children out of that house, and then sold it and kept the money. He found company on the other side, with a friend from Knjaževac, with whom he supposedly planned to live together.
Grandfather Bora was buried yesterday in the village cemetery in the presence of his closest relatives. A daughter, a grandson and another cousin accompanied Borisav to eternal rest. – Bora lived and I died – say the locals of Lalinac.
