Grandmother screamed loudly, passengers cried: shocking details of the accident in Zemun in which a child died (4)

According to the Belgrade Third Basic Prosecutor’s Office, he is accused of a serious act against the safety of public traffic and will be questioned on Thursday.

The accident occurred on Tuesday around 6.30 pm on Prvomajska Street, at the “Bosanska” stop. According to the first information, when the bus for line 18, operated by RD, stopped at the station, among the passengers who left through the back door were the boy and his grandmother, who was holding him by the hand. The grandmother came out first and the boy’s leg caught just as he was about to step onto the sidewalk. The annoyed woman greeted the driver and yelled for him to stop. However, no one heard her. The driver continued driving and the boy fell from the vehicle and was run over by the rear wheel of the articulated bus.

It turned out that he suffered serious, life-threatening head and body injuries, despite the doctor’s work in Tirsova. Witnesses to this accident say that the scene in Prvomajska was shocking, that the grandmother moaned loudly and passersby cried.

Although there is still speculation about the circumstances of this tragedy, according to unofficial information, the boy was returning with his grandmother from his apartment on Paris Commune Street in New Belgrade. From the stop in Prvomajska to the building on Milana Uzelac street, where the boy lived with his parents, they were separated by only fifty meters.

In front of the building on Milan Uzelac Street in Zemun, where the four-year-old lived, there was silence on Wednesday morning. Reporters from “Novosti” met with the grieving father and mother as they left the building crying and got into the car. His street parallels Prvomajska, where the accident occurred, and the building literally faces the stop where his son died.

– Please, no, we don’t have the strength. Understand – through tears they ordered us and took us in the direction of the city, probably to fix the time and place of the unfortunate boy’s funeral.

Family, friends, neighbors flocked to her top floor apartment throughout the day to express their condolences.

JKP GSP “Belgrade”, where RD works, expressed its condolences to the family of the injured child. They also launched their own internal investigation, in order to determine who is responsible for the accident.

– We express our deepest condolences – is expressed in the advertisement of this company. – The driver had no information about this accident, he did not see anything, nor did any of the bus passengers give him any sign that something had happened. He continued driving and found out about the accident only when the police stopped him. The driver is in shock to find out what happened.

GSP “Belgrade” launched an investigation within the company into the tragic event and the driver was suspended.

The injured boy’s grandmother, who was in her apartment on Comuna Street in Paris on Wednesday, was also unable to speak to journalists. The woman in black, who opened the door to her home in the skyscraper, fell silent due to the pain and shock that came over her. There is a “grandmother’s grandson” sticker on the door of her house, which can be interpreted as a small sign of the great closeness and love that the grandmother and the grandson had.
