The Minister of Human Rights and Social Dialogue, Gordana Comic, says that she was invited to the Government of Serbia, immediately before its formation, by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and President Aleksandar Vucic, and that the reason she joined was for competencies of that ministry. struggles for the past 30 years.

When asked how he was in government, since the party on whose list he was, United Democratic Serbia, achieved a result below one percent in the elections, Comic told H1 that this happened because Serbia had a Ministry of Human Rights and Social Dialogue and an invitation and an agreement. immediately prior to its formation by the Prime Minister and the President of Serbia.

When asked what those conversations were like, Comic said they were based on the understanding that in Serbia it is necessary to have a ministry that has the same policies and equal values, whoever the government or the opposition is, and for the reason that five Years in a row, other international organizations, as well as NGOs and foreign and national institutions, have repeated negative evaluations of democracy, the rule of law, the media, human and minority rights …

The request to establish the Ministry is an attempt to change that assessment, and that is everyone’s mutual consent, Comic said.

Asked what has changed since June 1, when she said in an interview with “Blic” that she would not enter the government and that no one with a reputation can enter such a government because those governments are in societies where “the rulers are at the mercy” . Comic Answers:

“Nothing has changed and there are no guarantees that the rulers will not be governed by mercy. It has changed that the Ministry has been formed, that the awareness has developed that it is a necessity, that everyone in public affairs changes their behavior because the norm is the right to read what you are in charge of and that’s how you work ”, said the minister.

He stressed that a ministry has been formed that would have the same policies, values and objectives in any government, with any party in power and in the opposition.

Asked if there is a guarantee that the ministry will not depend on the “mercy of the rulers”, he said that there are no guarantees, but that there is a clear desire in the ruling majority, but hopes that the same will happen in the opposition that Serbia obtain a best grade in one year. all of that is seen as bad and negative.

He also points out that there is an evident lack of dialogue in the institutions of society and that there is a group of people who support the government and another who says that nothing is right.

“There are no guarantees at all, but there are competencies in which what has been written and who has no right to do who is the head of the state administration, and as I do not change, but only the place from where I fight for the same ends , then in these competences is the promotion of reforms and European integration in chapters 23-24, as well as serious work on the culture of dialogue, human rights, the political culture of dialogue, dialogue with national minorities, as well as adoption of all laws long written into action plans, “Comic said.

He stressed that he reached an agreement with the president on the powers for which the ministry is responsible to obtain a better assessment of the rule of law in Serbia, and that this is possible although, as he told the host, “it sounds incredible.”

“Our conversation would have been more productive if we had both read the ministry competitions,” Comic told the presenter, who responded that she had read the competitions.

“You have the right to think that I should not be a minister, but the powers of the ministry have determined me,” Comic said, adding that this is the policy she has been fighting for for the past 30 years.

He also said that he had a conversation with the National Minority Councils, which have serious problems, from the lack of finances, to the lack of dialogue with the majority and state bodies about the realization of their rights.

He also recalled that the research shows that the majority in Serbia have a great ethnic distance towards the Roma, Albanians and Croats, and that this requires the work of people in state bodies and the media to open a serious dialogue, as well as to strongly uphold anti-discrimination laws.

Reminding the host that the National Council of Albanians sued Police Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who constantly calls Albanian Shiptars, even though it was previously found to be offensive, Comic says a member of the Government should not comment on police, prosecutorial and judicial if they enter the process.

“We will wait for the court to decide and then we will react as a ministry and myself.”

“Minister Vulin is a member of the government, and if you want to prove that a member of the government violates the government code of ethics and fix it by another member of the government violating the code of ethics, we have a misunderstanding, banal but deep,” Comic said. .
