GOOD NEWS IS COMING Serbian Scientists’ Research Encourages, Here’s What They Say About ANTIBODY RETENTION After The Crown

Following patients with the corona virus, we concluded that antibodies against the new virus remain in the blood for much more than three months, says Marija Gnjatović, a researcher at the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy (INEP).

– The first results of our research show that antibodies do not disappear so easily. People who initially developed a high concentration of antibodies have maintained them for five months, Gnjatović told TV Prva, adding that some INEP patients have been monitored since March, when the first case of kovida-19 appeared in Serbia.

He explained that even those patients who have developed fewer antibodies do not lose immunity as quickly.

– According to the results, even those who initially have a lower concentration of antibodies in their blood are not without immunity. Of course, the amount of antibodies decreases over time, but it is not so significant that immunity is lost after three months as mentioned. Antibodies stay in the blood for at least five months, that’s true, and maybe up to a year, Gnjatović said.

If the amount of antibodies in the blood depends on the severity of the clinical picture, Gnjatović explains that it may have connections, but sometimes there are no rules.

– Those with a more severe clinical picture tend to develop more antibodies, while those with a milder or completely asymptomatic symptoms have fewer antibodies. Sometimes it happens that they do not even develop long-term protective Igg bodies, but only the initial Igm antibodies. Although it happened that such patients also developed immunity, as if they had undergone a more severe form of kovida-19, explains Gnjatović.

He added that the infection rate of the population in the second peak of the first wave is much higher, but also that there are many more asymptomatic cases. People adhere more to the recommended measures and wear masks, which is why we come into contact with a much smaller amount of viruses than if we had no protection. Gnjatović explains that fewer viruses cause a milder clinical picture, which is a positive side.
