Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that he came to Zlatibor not for the talks of the political parties, but to support an important project and to show how happy he is at every success of the state and citizens as President of Serbia.
You won’t know from me that the gondola is bad because it was built by someone else. It would be a shame, I am proud of the gondola, and to the extent that we can help, we will help no matter who is in power, he added.
I came to congratulate those who made a great position, not only for Zlatibor, but for all of Serbia, Vučić said at the ceremony on the occasion of the commissioning of the panoramic gondola in Zlatibor, in the company of the mayor of Cajetina, Milan Stamatović.
Vučić announced that a part of the road to Požega, to Sveti Nikola will be completed by the end of the year, and that the proposal to build a bypass around Zlatibor will be considered.

Cajetina Municipality President Milan Stamatović said the gondola is one of the most valuable investments in tourism, citing Ljubivoje Ršumović that children become pets in the city and little people in the countryside.
Stamatovic thanked Vucic for attending the inauguration of the gondola, noting that this is the beginning of a dialogue between the opposition and the government, and that he hopes it is in the interests of the state, Zlatibor and all of Serbia.
He recalled that the reconstruction of the Tornik ski resort, which was destroyed in the NATO bombing in 1999, began in 2004.
We had the support of the Government of Vojislav Kosutnica at the time, but even then there were problems and misunderstandings at the lower levels of the bureaucracy, so the renovation lasted five years. Then, during the government of Boris Tadic, the construction of plans began, the bureaucracy reappeared at the lower levels as an obstacle, Stamatovic recalled.
When we started with the gondola, we had the help of a discreet, professional and calm man from Ljubiš. The lesson and the message from this gondola is that the obstacle has always been at the lower levels, he said.
If we hadn’t swayed our investors’ personal and private connections, there wouldn’t have been a gondola, Stamatović said.
The construction of the Gold gondola cost 13.5 million euros and the municipality of Cajetina contributed money from its own funds. It is the longest panoramic gondola, 8,950 meters long, with a capacity of 600 passengers per hour, with 55 cabins of 10 seats each.

The municipality expects the investment to be recovered in 10 years.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dejan Petrović played the hymn “God of justice” on the trumpet.
