Actor Svetislav Bule Goncic will be the chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Theater, it was decided at yesterday’s session of the Government of Serbia, writes Nova.rs.
“It is an honor for me that the Ministry of Culture has called me and suggested that I do so,” Goncic said in a statement to Nova.rs on the occasion of the election.
When asked what his priority will be as head of the National Theater Board of Directors, he replied that at the time of the coronavirus epidemic, the preservation of people is the most important thing.
“My task is to behave correctly, with dignity, seriousness and measure from the position of President of the Board of Directors towards what is the intention of the national theater, towards what they want to do. It is not difficult when you know what the National Theater represents in the cultural heritage of our country. So my task is tactically simple but very responsible and significant ”, he adds.
This will be Goncic’s second term in this body, considering that he was appointed a member four years ago along with Bratislav Petkovic and Aleksandar Gatalic. However, he did not stay there long, resigned after a few months, explaining that the reasons were “procedural in nature.”
