Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin He said today that the police ensure every day that the citizens of Shida and all other citizens of Serbia are protected and that their daily lives are not affected by the consequences of the migration crisis.

According to the head of the Sremska Mtirovica Police Department, Dragan Stojanac, there are three reception centers in the Šid area with 1,860 immigrants, of which 260 are in Šid, 600 in Principovac and 900 in Adaševci.
Vulin, who together with Police Director Vladimir Rebić and Sid Zoran Semenović Municipality President, visited the police officers who carried out the action to find “irregular” migrants early this morning, asked citizens to trust their state and police.
The Minister asked citizens not to be victims of fake news and not to listen to whoever calls them to organize to save something from someone, because there are laws in Serbia and no one can take justice into their own hands.
“No migrant who is not in our system and does not have a proper permit, should not and cannot move through our streets, especially should not camp or stay in an area where it is not regulated and allowed,” said Vulin.
According to him, these people, due to the corona virus crisis, it can be a health problem for themselves and the citizens of Serbia and therefore they should be in camps where they are controlled and where they have all possible medical care and protection.

Stojanac said that crime in the migrant population refers mainly to mutual conflicts and no attacks on citizens have been recorded.
