The president of the Legal Council of the People’s Party, lawyer Vladimir Gajić, said today that the Public Prosecutor of the Republic Zagorka Dolovac, due to her inaction and silence on crime and dozens of scandals, became one of the most responsible for the “criminalization widespread in Serbian society “and mocked the citizens with his statements.
“Zagorka Dolovac made a startling statement that the police acted in accordance with legal authorizations in this year’s demonstrations in Belgrade. In doing so, he mocked the citizens. Images of the brutal force employed by the police turned the corner. They were beaten, arrested, detained or convicted in misdemeanor proceedings, and the prosecution treated them as criminals, “Gajic said.
On the occasion of Zagorka Dolovac’s interview with the daily Blic, Gajić said that the only benefit that the public has from this interview is that “it did not disappear as some thought”.
“Everything else is ordinary political phrases peppered with a kind of omerta, that is, a thunderous silence about dozens of cases and scandals that the prosecution would have to weigh in on,” Gajic said.
Gajic added that Zagorka Dolovac said the prosecution was working only on the basis of the evidence, but she only “skipped over to explain which state body it was in whose basic job description to collect evidence together with the police.”
“Zagorka Dolovac became famous for her skill with the boiler, which is unmatched in Europe in the last ten years. That is why I think she is one of the people most responsible for the widespread criminalization of the entire Serbian society, from the local community to the top of the state institutions, “Gajić said.
He stated that “this is the time of the greatest looting of people’s property in the history of Serbia.”
“Serbia has become a mecca for money laundering, which was acquired through the most dangerous types of crimes, starting with drug trafficking and now endemic corruption in which members of the ruling SNS are mainly involved,” Gajic added .
Gajic assessed that in Serbia “there is no longer a line of separation between the state and the mafia.”
“The mafia has its own state here, and that is why Serbia is truly a leader in the world. There have been more than 100 killings of the mafia since Zagorka Dolovac headed the Serbian prosecution. “Except in a few cases, we do not see any investigation, let alone a case has gone to court,” Gajic said.
Gajic claimed that organized robberies of state assets were taking place in the eyes of the public prosecutor, such as the “Krusik” and “Telekom Srbija” cases, the Belgrade on Water project, the sale of “PKB” and the companies of construction of two private companies in Novi Sad.
“In recent years, the opposition has inundated the prosecutor with evidence that he was able to gather that was sufficient to open investigations, not to mention what KRIK, BIRN and Insider and several free journalists such as Vuk Cvijic of NIN did. “And there was only silence,” Gajic said.
Gajić pointed out that this is why Zagorka Dolovac, by his inaction, became complicit in the general criminalization of Serbian society, because criminal acts can be committed both by doing and not doing.
The Chairman of the People’s Party Legal Council said that contrary to Zagorka Dolovac’s claims, there is the fact that Serbia is no longer considered a democratic state and that credible institutions in the world evaluate Serbia as a hybrid and undemocratic state with the highest level of corruption.
“That is why this year no chapter on progress towards the EU has been opened,” Gajic concluded.
