The chairman of the People’s Party Legal Council, lawyer Vladimir Gajic, declared today that all the facilities built in Belgrade on water “could be withdrawn as illegal construction” if the Constitutional Court of Serbia declares the Belgrade water specialist unconstitutional.

“The opposition should promise to initiate proceedings before the Constitutional Court of Serbia first.” If that procedure is successful, then the legal consequence would be that the lex specialis (on Belgrade on the water) becomes unconstitutional and that the contract between the Republic of Serbia and the UAE investors becomes null and void, and if that happens, all the facilities built would become illegal branches. , and illegal construction can no longer be legalized, it would have to be removed, “Gajic told Newsmax Adria, according to a statement from the Popular Party.

Gajic said there are three Belgrade-related legal acts on water: an interstate agreement between the UAE and Serbia, a lex specialis (special law), and an agreement between the Republic of Serbia and an Arab investor.

“This agreement ensures that all future private investments from the Emirates will not be subject to the laws that apply in Serbia,” Gajic said.
