The Chairman of the Legal Council of the People’s Party, lawyer Vladimir Gajic, declared that all the facilities built in Belgrade on water “could be eliminated as illegal construction” if the Constitutional Court of Serbia declares the Lex specialis in Belgrade on water unconstitutional, announced the Popular Party. .
Gajic told Newsmax Adria that “the opposition should promise to initiate proceedings before the Constitutional Court of Serbia first.”
“If that procedure is successful, then the legal consequence would be that the lex specialis (on Belgrade on the water) becomes unconstitutional and that the agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the UAE investors becomes null and void. Gajic said that three legal acts are debatable regarding Belgrade on the water: the interstate agreement between the UAE and Serbia, the lex specialis (special law) and the agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Arab investor.
“This agreement ensures that all future private investments from the Emirates will not be subject to the laws that apply in Serbia,” Gajic said.
