The Belgrade district heating system is fully ready for the next heating season, all necessary repairs have been completed before the scheduled deadline, so the functional testing of the district heating system will begin on October 1 and they will last until October 10, Belgrade Power Plants announced. .

This means that more than 300,000 homes in the capital will have a stable and reliable supply of thermal energy throughout the heating season, the announcement noted.
It was noted that the preparation of the system included extensive work on hot water sources, hot water network and primary parts of heat transmission stations, since the “Belgrade Power Stations” system is one of the largest supply systems. of heat to consumers in Europe with 36 heat sources and 14 heating plants. and 22 boiler rooms, as well as some 1,600 kilometers of hot water network with return lines and more than 9,000 heat transfer stations.
As part of the preparations for the heating season, “Belgrade Power Plants” contracted the supply of heat sources with natural gas, which is the primary energy source and represents 96% of the total consumption, and all the others were purchased necessary energy sources.
As explained, the functional tests include the verification of the operation of energy installations, heating plants and boiler rooms, which simultaneously checks the functionality of the hot water network, heat transfer stations and, if necessary, the individual heating installations, in order to better prepare the production and distribution plants for the next heating season. .
The functional tests do not involve the start of the heating season, that is, the delivery of thermal energy to consumers, the announcement states.
