The members of the Assembly of Free Serbia addressed the assembled citizens from the stage and said that the Assembly is not another new political party, but a place where all those citizens who were “impoverished” by the current government and “will meet. they stole all his rights. “
Professor Cedomir Cupic said that the Assembly is a “non-violent citizens’ association”, which will respond to “unreasonable movements of the state” with one of the achievements of democracy: civil disobedience.
According to him, the Assembly demands fair elections, freedom of the press and that citizens, as he says, be free from fear and that they choose and decide for themselves “without pressure or blackmail.”
He says that the Assembly wants to legalize that no one usurp its position and annul the rule of law, and that it become a “law” for all future governments.
Professor Biljana Stojković said that all workers, architects, engineers, cultural workers, journalists, teachers, whose rights are in danger because “they think differently”, were invited to the Assembly.
“The Assembly of Free Serbia wants to unite and connect all citizens, freethinkers from all over Serbia, from north to south,” Stojković said.
He affirmed that the objective of the Assembly is not to change politicians in armchairs, but to change the system and the policy that the experts will create, from agriculture, through health, to ecology.
Epidemiologist Zoran Radovanović spoke about the “United Against Covid” Initiative and stated that the doctors who joined it by the state were declared “the greatest traitors”, and that they only asked for the formation of a new Crisis Staff.
There were no visible slogans at the protest, only a few with the words “Freedom” and “Truth.”
During the protest, traffic was not closed on Studentski trg.
The members of the Assembly announced the next meeting for Monday, October 12, when, they said, 1,000 candles will be lit during the 1,000 days of the unsolved murder of Oliver Ivanovic, and the president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan Djilas, already has called the celebration.
