The guest of the conference was Arno Gujon, founder of the humanitarian organization “Solidarity for Kosovo”.

The conversation with Gujon, a great humanitarian who lives and works in Serbia, aims to shed light on the legacy of Franco-Serbian relations, as well as current relations between the two countries. By analyzing and comparing examples of Franco-Serbian cooperation from the past, Guyon points out the consequences of the negative image of the Serbian and Serbian media on the French public in the 1990s, as well as the efforts to renew the idea of eternal friendship.

Aleksandra Kolaković recalled the traditional Serbian-French friendship and the most important period of this friendship, the period of the Great War, when the brotherhood of arms was forged, to which current politicians in France and Serbia refer, and without whom a conversation about these two countries. it cannot flow.

That is to say, it is about the period during 1915, when Serbia collapsed, which found a part of help and salvation in France and its organized medical and military missions.

– I knew about Serbia what my father and grandfather knew, and they knew that Serbia was a friendly country, that Serbia and France were on the same side in the First World War. We did not know the Serbs, but we knew that our ties were deep and historical – said Gujon.

Gujon further explained that in 2005, when he was in Kosovo and Metohija for the first time, the image he had of Kosovo based on what he heard from his family took the correct form, because, as he says, he realized the reality there.

Gujon is the author of the book “All my roads lead to Serbia”, which bears witness to the difficult life of our people in Kosovo and Metohija. He is the founder of the humanitarian organization “Solidarity for Kosovo”, whose objective is to help the Serbian people and other national minorities living in Kosovo and Metohija, and which since its foundation has renovated a large number of schools, hospitals, maternity wards, nursing homes. health, kitchens. and helped socially disadvantaged families living in Kosovo.

The participant of the action “Let’s cultivate the Serbian language”, which deals with the promotion and protection of the language, the alphabet, the culture and the literacy of the language in general and the “Caravan of the culture of speech”, visited the main cities from Serbia: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Kikinda, Mionica, Pozarevac, Nis. He has numerous decorations and recognitions for his long-term humanitarian work. He was also awarded the highest church decorations, the Order of Saint Sava and the Order of Saint Bishop Nikolaj. He visited many of our monasteries in Kosovo and Metohija, and in Visoki Decani, built by King Stefan of Decani, he was baptized and accepted Orthodoxy.

Gujon said that now that we look at the relations between Serbia and France, we can say that France is now more interested in these areas and that it is natural for these two countries to cooperate because of the history, culture and ties that exist between them.

– When France is completely yours, it will be completely on the side of Serbia and I hope that together they will write great pages of our common history – concluded Gujon.
