An elderly resident of the village of Donja Gorevnica, Mirka Stanišić, recently experienced an unpleasant situation when she was visited by field representatives of a company that sells dishes, household appliances, but also mattresses, and on that occasion she sold products worth 120,000 dinars. However, there would be no problem if it weren’t for an 82-year-old woman who is in social danger and lives on an 11,000 dinar farm pension in a ramshackle house with no running water.
The Center to Foster Dialogue and Tolerance reacted to the whole situation. The team from this center wrote a letter to the management of “Grupo Lupo”, whose products (magnetic mattress and Shiatsu el light massager) were sold by field representatives to this grandmother, writes “Ozon Press”.
– According to the letter from the Čačak portal “Ozon Press” on behalf of the company he represents, the representative of his company “sold” a product that costs 120 thousand huge dinars to a poor, defenseless and elderly person. An 82-year-old woman is now deducted 5,000 dinars. per month of total revenue of 11 thousand. The home sales were evidently the result of deceiving an elderly and sick person. We suggest that, as a socially responsible company, you find a solution and cancel the suspension of a woman in social danger. Take an interest in the situation and solve the problem. We hope that they will react quickly and that it is not necessary to involve the relevant institutions, because the essence is to solve the problem as soon as possible. Also, read the text published on the “Ozone Press” portal. In the hope that you will react quickly and nullify the negative context that is undermining the corporate culture of your company, we cordially salute you – the letter says – to the Team of the Center for Fostering Dialogue and Tolerance.
The answer came from “Lupo Group” after a very short time.
– I appreciate your message and consider it well intentioned. The misunderstanding with this grandmother was resolved and her contract was canceled, the fees paid were returned through the PIO fund and the product was left as a gift for her – replied Mirko Vučijak, the general manager.
Each of the participants must have drawn a useful conclusion from this event, and the story had a happy ending, writes “Ozon Press.”
