Exactly one year after his arrest in the Malča village cemetery, Ninoslav Jovanović, better known as the Malča barber, will be sentenced today.
Jovanovic, who was arrested on January 5, 2020, after a 17-day operation involving some 800 police officers, members of the security forces and volunteers, could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Fraudulently dragged the girl into the car.
As “Blic” wrote, Jovanović abducted a girl who was 12 years old at the time on December 20, 2019 in Brzo Brod at 7.25am, intercepting her on her way to school.
The deceived maniac tricked the boy into getting into his “Fiat Punto” car, which he stole the night before in Malča. He told the girl that he was the new electrician working at her school and asked him to show him the way. The girl got into the car and began a multi-day drama that Serbia had not seen.
When she saw that they were not going in the direction of school, the girl wondered where they had gone, and Jovanović tried to control the situation with lies: she said that her father had stolen a diamond from a Niška Banja woman and had been kidnapped. reportedly released when the diamond is returned. To intimidate the girl, he also told her that he would kill her parents if she did not listen. The public at that time still did not know who was behind the kidnapping of the girl …
Three days of anxiety, then a gruesome discovery
Namely, after the last release from prison in March 2019, Jovanović was in Malča for a few months and then mysteriously disappeared. His parents reported his disappearance to the police, but since he did not commit a crime, he declared himself missing. However, the moment he disappeared from the village, Jovanović will use it to thoroughly plan the kidnapping of the child and prepare to hide.
The fate of the missing girl was only speculated for three days, and then a stolen “point” was found in the forest, not far from the Malča cemetery. The analysis of the biological traces of the stolen car horrified everyone: traces of the convicted rapist of the children Jovanović and the missing girl were found in the vehicle. The girl’s backpack was also found, and not far from there, a makeshift hut prepared by Jovanović earlier, in which they spent the first night.
A massive manhunt begins
Members of the police and gendarmerie are searching the entire region, on the fifth day, the help of citizens was requested, it was announced that Jovanović was being searched and a photo of him was published.
A man from Svrljig told police that he saw a man and a girl who fit the description, walking on the Nisevac to Knjezavac railway. All police forces are directed to that region. The houses from which the food was taken were discovered, and in the village of Orešac it was also discovered in which house he cut the girl’s hair.
Helicopters, drones, search dogs …
More and more police and gendarmes are taking part in the chase, which uses helicopters, drones, thermal imaging cameras and search dogs. In addition to the members of the Ministry of the Interior, which was reinforced by the border police, there are about 100 members of the army, hunters and citizens.
House after house is searched, pedal by pedal of the land, but there is no trace or voice of the missing girl until December 29, when Emil Živić from Niš stopped by his son to visit the house in the village of Pasjača.
Seeing the open door in the basement, he started to enter the house from which Jovanović jumped at the time and started to flee.
A kidnapped girl was found in the house, alive but traumatized with bruises and scratches on her body. Jovanovic again manages to escape police pursuit.
The police are intensively touring and searching the surrounding villages until January 5, and they call a Malča resident, who said he came “face to face” with Jovanović, who spent the night in his haystack, around 12 in point. That information changed the whole chase to this place near Nis.
Arrest after 17 days of search
With a cleverly made hoop, this time the Malča barber did not manage to escape, he was arrested in the cemetery of this town at 2:20 pm He was visibly exhausted, dirty and covered with a multi-day beard.
– My name is Ninoslav Jovanović, I came to my grandmother’s grave, said the Malča barber, after he was detained by a police patrol led by Sladjan Radosavljević, a policeman from Ražanj, a member of the intervention unit of the Administration of Police in Niš.
The investigation against Jovanović was initiated due to the criminal acts of kidnapping and rape of a child, for which a prison sentence of at least 10 years or life imprisonment is threatened.
Jovanovic’s trial was held behind closed doors to protect the interests of the injured girl. For the same reason, the classification of the criminal act was not officially announced.
He spent 22 years behind bars
By the way, Jovanović spent half his life in prison for various crimes. He even spent 22 years behind bars for rape, attempted rape, but also robbery and fraud.
He was first sentenced in 1996 to ten years in prison for rape and fraud. Then he raped a girl and a 14-year-old girl. Since he was released on parole in 2005, after 9.5 years in prison, he has repeated the criminal acts: he raped a 12-year-old girl from Nis and tried to rape another from Gornja Vrežina, who had previously cut her hair with scissors. Even then a helicopter and search dogs were used to pursue it.
He was sentenced to 15 years in 2006, but was released in early January 2018, after serving 12 years, after the Supreme Court reduced his sentence on appeal.
In October of the same year, he was arrested again on charges of harassing and harassing women and minors through social media. In March 2019, he was sentenced to five months in prison in Belgrade for completely harassing women through social media, while he was acquitted of the charges for the other two parties to the persecution. Since his time in detention was included in the sentence, he was automatically released.
In court, Jovanovic admitted that the girls’ haircuts made him sexually aroused. Psychiatric experience determined that he was not mentally ill, but had a psychopathic personality structure. The expert neuropsychiatrist’s assessment at the 2006 trial was unequivocal: there is a high probability that he will repeat the offense as soon as he is released.
