Renting 890 plastic beer cases, in an attempt to start a private business twenty years ago, has so far cost Vladan Ignjatovic of Nis an incredible four million dinars, which is why his mother Olgica Ignjatovic started a protest in front of the Basic Court building in Nis today.
As he told reporters, his son compensated the owners for 890 rented cases of beer with empty bottles, which were stolen from him by thieves after six months of rent, and paid around 5,500 DM at the time, but the owners subsequently They sued him for the lease.
– For the basic debt for the lease of boxes of 198,010 dinars, the court calculated by calculating the ‘interest on interest’ that my son should now pay 6.1 million dinars in interest. This convenient form of calculation was valid until 2003, and later the court only copied it so that my son’s family was in financial and mental distress. According to the previous verdict for the debt, this money is deducted from his salary, up to 50 percent of his personal income, Ignjatović said.
According to her, the conclusions of the experts confirm that from 2001 to 2013, her son paid the entire debt, interest and court costs. However, the court decided in September this year that the debt had not yet been paid and that the withdrawal of money from Vladan’s account would continue.
Olgica Ignjatović decided to protest in court on her son’s behalf every day until the problem is resolved, and Vladan is currently in Belgrade, where she works day and night to pay interest.
– The purpose of my protest is to point out how my son was put into debt bondage due to the legal violence of the then NM Judge and the New Jersey expert. Based on a final court decision, you pay interest on interest for 20 years, against the Constitution and the law. On the basic debt of 198,010 dinars, the interest interest so far amounts to 6,100,000 dinars. That’s 3,000 percent or 30 times more. He has already paid 4,000,000 dinars in his salary. What they are accusing her now is a great injustice – says Olgica Igratović.
The 2014 Nis Court of First Instance decision, which Ignjatović showed to journalists, establishes that the Court of First Instance rejected as unfounded the proposal of the debtor Vladan Ignjatović to stay the enforcement proceedings because he did not pay the basic debt, but only a part of the legal interest.
The decision said that in 2001, the court determined that Ignjatović had to pay 195,010 dinars on behalf of the principal debt and 2,034,329.31 dinars on behalf of the statutory default interest calculated by the compliant method.
The decision also establishes that the principal debt of the debtor in September amounted to 2,229,339 dinars, and on behalf of the interest on legal delay for the period of March 3, 2001 to 2014, he had to pay 5,415,162.54 dinars.
In the period from February 2003 to August 2014, Ignjatović paid 3,365,719.50 dinars, so his principal debt still amounts to 2,229,339.31 dinars and the legal late payment interest is 2,049,443.04 dinars. .
Ignjatović announced that he would protest in front of the Court of First Instance building in the coming days, provided his health allowed.
