First he cried, then he was stunned by the statement, the judge immediately took his word

My conscience itches me for what I did. I cry all the time. She was my grandmother on my mother’s side recently and everything that happened is terrible. I address the wounded in the courtroom – said Vladan Grahovac from Raska, who was visibly crying today at the trial, where he was charged with 26 knife stab wounds and a couple of blows with a hammer.

On September 1 of last year he killed Jelica Tatarovski (82) in her apartment on Zoran Djindjic Boulevard in Nis, where she stole 760 euros.

The High Court judge allowed Grahovac to express his position while Ana Veljković Đorđević, member of the expert commission of the Belgrade Prison Special Hospital, spoke. He called for the hearing to be postponed so that the commission can do further analysis and, as he said, final.

Then Grahovac said something completely unexpected.

– I had the honor to speak with Ms. Ana Veljković and I must say that the finding was written at the level of the secondary school staff. For me all this is stressful and I am constantly receiving injections of tranquilizers – said the icon painter, and the judge took his word and postponed the trial for October.

The trial was postponed until October 21 of this year.

Maja Markovic, the daughter of a niece who found a poor old woman in a pool of blood, says that Grandma Vera, as everyone called her, was a fragile and domineering old woman.

– I can’t forgive something like that, no matter what the defendant said in the courtroom. We cannot forgive because she was a wonderful woman who did not hurt anyone. Everything affects me and this arrival in court is tremendously stressful. I remember that he was on the bench downstairs with the neighbors until eight thirty at night. We heard each other a little later, I had my sister’s wedding and we agreed on how I would get through that day without my help, and then something terrible happened, says Marković, who was the late grandmother’s guardian.

At the next trial, Belgrade health experts and a doctor must testify when the defense calls.

Grahovac knocked on Vera’s grandmother’s door that night, and since he used to live in that building with his brother, she met him and opened it for him, and then killed her. Grahovac later testified that he was not aware of what he had done.
