The president of the Fie Kragujevac Fans Association, Slavoljub Batavelji, told the agency Beta that originally it was planned to gather around 80 FIA fans from home and abroad at the 16th Fia Fest, but a large gathering was not allowed due to the epidemiological situation.

A small number of fans will gather on Sunday to symbolically commemorate the 65th anniversary of the start of production of that car in Kragujevac.

“Tomorrow we will present the monument to the fii that we are giving to the city. Unfortunately, our idea to erect a monument to the fii has not been realized since 2012 because there was no news from the authorities. to find its place in the square near the fountain in the center of the city, “said Batavelji.

As a “faithful generation”, Batavelji participated in its production in “Zastava”, and today he says that this car for Kragujevac is “love, nostalgia, legend, it is the car that built this city”.

“There are 288 members of the FIA fan association from Serbia and Europe, and of course there are all over the world. Fia resists the ravages of time, because it is easily restored and attracts the attention of veteran fans. Own, original, “Batavelji added.

Batavelji, who is also involved in the restoration of the fia, says that five variants are in production today, with the most popular being the convertible, the sports type and the fia whose doors open beforehand.

He says there are several owners of the older 1964 fie models in Kragujevac.

The author’s text from the Kragujevac City Tourism Organization states that the first fia was produced at the “Zavodi Crvena Zastava” factory in Kragujevac, on October 18, 1955, under the license of the Italian Fiat. Production of the Zastava 750M began in 1962. Over 30 years, from 1955 to 1985, workers at the Kragujevac car factory produced almost one million FIA, or 923,487 copies of this car.

The last FIA was produced in Kragujevac on November 18, 1985 and was red.
