At the Petrinja Kokin dom family farm, the chickens also had a hard time experiencing an earthquake whose epicenter was this morning in the village of Strašnik in Banovina, about ten kilometers from Petrinja.

The owner of the family farm, Marko Čaić, posted the surveillance camera footage from his upper floor of the farm. There are 4200 pieces of chickens in it, which were quite shaken by the earthquake.

Although some residents of neighboring villages said the animals foresaw the earthquake, their chickens, of which there are more than 10,000 in all, did not.

“So I went to see the video, but it is not seen that they felt anything before the impact,” says Caic, who fortunately does not have major property damage.

“The hats on the chimneys in the barn have fallen off, but all is well,” he said. He adds that so far no chickens have died due to the possible stress they have suffered.

Two strong earthquakes with an epicenter 5 km southeast of Petrinja occurred at 6.49 and 6.51. The magnitudes of the earthquake were 4.7 and 4.1 according to Richter, and the intensity at the epicenter was VII and VI degrees on the EMS scale, according to a statement from the Seismology Service.
