Epidemiologist Darija Kisić Tepavčević said, after the crisis staff session, that in cafes and restaurants, indoors, working hours will be extended until 11 pm, with respect to all prescribed measures. Cultural and sporting events are not yet allowed.

We will monitor this measure, and if the slightest increase in the frequency of the disease is noticed, there will be corrections, he added. The distance between guests should be at least 1.5m, unless there are family members involved, he said, adding that this was prescribed by previous measures. Each of us should individually assess the risk to our family’s health when we decide to go to a cafeteria or restaurant, he says.

Although the epidemiological situation is favorable, we believe that cultural and sporting events should not be allowed yet, because we do not want preconditions to be established for the situation to get worse, added Kisić Tepavčević.

The epidemiologist said that the situation in the country is stable, but added that we have dozens of infected and at least one person died every day, so she asked for more responsible behavior.

Serbia is among the best in Europe with seven cases per 100,000 inhabitants last week and, apart from the Vatican and Greenland, we are the country with the lowest incidence rate, he added.

Last week, there was a hundred times higher risk of disease in Montenegro and ten times higher in Croatia, and this result is a reflection of the fact that citizens behaved responsibly, he said.

He points out that some countries had a favorable situation, such as the Czech Republic and Israel, and that it changed in just one week, emphasizing that this must be taken into account, especially since there is a period of respiratory infections, for which everyone must be responsible.

The situation in schools is stable, children and teachers have obviously acted with conscience, in four weeks we only have one case of local transmission in that environment, he added.

Classes for students are beginning and we call on them and the academic community to behave responsibly and conscientiously, said a crisis staff member.
