When asked if the Anti-Corruption Council would deal with this case, a member of this body, Jelisaveta Vasilić, told “Novosti” that it was a job for the prosecution:
– I do not see why the Council would deal with this case, when we have a prosecutor’s office. The moment a story about the property in dispute appears in the Assembly or in the Government, the prosecution must begin to work. It is not a question of whether they will or not, it is the prosecution that must react. All assets for which there is a dilemma about how they were acquired should be examined. I have been dealing with the rule of law my whole life and I believe that everyone is subject to controls, says Vasilić.
The public has been rocked for days by stories that Djilas and his brother Gojko, often under unrealistic market conditions and through controversial property transfers, possible tax evasion and money laundering, acquired luxury real estate. The deputies of the National Assembly also spoke about it, presenting data on hundreds of square meters in exclusive locations, which are owned by the Djilas brothers.

Finally, articles appeared in some media about the supposed suspicious actions of Djilas during the construction of the Bridge over Ada at a time when he was the first man in the capital and had the budget of Belgrade at his disposal. According to the portal “Objektiv”, it is suspected that Djilas and several of his associates at that time damaged the city’s treasury by almost 2.5 million euros. This, it is claimed, is proven by numerous documents, but also by the testimony of a foreign citizen who performed a responsible role in one of the companies that built the bridge.

Connection with the tax haven of Panama
According to “Objektiv”, the company in Greece, led by Rajicic, was founded in 2006, only after the conceptual solution for the construction of the Bridge over Ada was adopted, and before the announcement of the tender in which the contractors were selected. Likewise, the Greek company “Sil Commercial” is a subsidiary of the homonymous company in Panama, which is known as “tax haven” and where companies are founded mainly by those who want to avoid paying taxes in their countries of origin.

As said, the most debatable is the fact that Djilas paid up to 2,491,506.28 euros from the city’s treasury on behalf of alleged consulting services in connection with the construction of the Bridge over Ada.
– The city official, Rubignoni, personally met with us and transmitted Djilas’s verbal orders to pay funds for alleged consultations during the construction of the bridge to the Greek company “Sil Commerce”. I was in very intense communication with Dragan Jesic at the time. for “Objektiv”, a foreign entrepreneur who held a senior position in the company that built Most na Ada.
