An oxygen bottle exploded today at the Nis Clinical Center and started a fire, in which three health workers suffered minor injuries, while the patient was not injured.

According to the director of the Nis Clinical Center, Zoran Perišić, the incident occurred around 1:20 pm, when a practical oxygen bottle caught fire while transporting a patient from the ambulance to the intensive care unit, while the flow of oxygen.

Perisic said personnel soon came to the rescue and extinguished the fire.

Two anesthesia doctors were injured and an anesthetist is in good health and will be placed in the Clinical Center in the observation room, and the patient was not injured, says the director of that health institution.

– Everyone is fine, two doctors and an anesthetist have minor injuries. They will stay there for a short time, until we are sure that the situation with them is such that we can let them go home – Perisic told reporters in Nis.

He also stated that the incident will be investigated and it will be determined if there is someone omission and who is responsible.
