The best evidence of how alarming the situation with the corona virus is in Serbia is the fact that every day a new city or municipality introduces a state of emergency or stricter additional measures, and recently, in just one day, it was declared the state of emergency in four places: Zajecar, Uzice, Pozarevac. and in Odzaci. Today, two more municipalities were added to the list.
With the increase in the number of new coronavirus cases across Serbia, the list of cities and municipalities in which an emergency situation has been introduced is expanding every day, and now there are up to 39 of them in this list of places! critical to the crown!
These are: Belgrade, Kragujevac, Rekovac, Trstenik, Aleksandrovac, Novi Pazar, Valjevo, Bor, Prokuplje, Dimitrovgrad, Kladovo, Nis, Sid, Negotin, Uzice, Pozarevac, Smederevo, Ljig, Svilajnac, Belavo Zornik, Presentevornjar, Presentevigjar, , Ruma, Bogatić, Paraćin, Šabac, Prijepolje, Dimitrovgrad, Vrdnik, Ljubovija, Krupanj, Zajačar, Petrovac na Mlavi, Kučevo, Odžaci and Babušnica, and from today on Zrenjanin and Veliko Gradište.
In addition to these places, the epidemiological situation is unfavorable in several other cities and municipalities that are on the infamous crown list almost every day when it comes to the daily cross-section of new cases in cities.
However, an emergency situation has not been introduced in them, but existing measures have been tightened, with greater control over them. The list includes Novi Sad, Kraljevo, Pancevo, Kikinda and Subotica.
Tightening the measure locally
As for the epidemiological measures that are being implemented, new measures came into force yesterday that apply to the entire territory of Serbia, and everyone is obliged to strictly respect them. In addition, some municipalities and cities have introduced some additional stricter measures at the local level to prevent the spread of the virus.
For example, in Kula, in the session of the Emergency Situations Headquarters of this municipality, the decision was made to limit the number of diners at the table to two in the catering facilities, and smoking is prohibited in the closed part of the establishment. Likewise, a new measure is to limit the noise level below 40 decibels to avoid shouting and loud speech from those present in the building.
The city that has been consistently in second place lately in terms of the number of new cases registered is Novi Sad, but in the largest city of Vojvodina an emergency situation has not yet been introduced.
– There is no need to introduce an emergency situation in Novi Sad, because the current measures and orders are stricter than they would be in an emergency situation – said the mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš recently. Vučević.
One of the four new measures that were introduced in Novi Sad is related to a holiday in residential buildings starting at 4 pm, and Mayor Vučević explained that this mainly refers to the ban on house parties.
Today, Zrenjanin has been added to the cities of Vojvodina where an emergency situation has been introduced, who has been counting a large number of infected for days, and today there are 1258 of them active in this city.
The mayor of Zrenjanin, Simo Salapura, said that this decision was made with the aim of preventing the negative effects that the epidemic has on the health of the population and the health system. Such a measure, he said, should help stabilize the situation in our city.
– We constantly struggle with capacities, which are filling very fast and the number of infected is increasing, and among them a significant number of medical workers, now more than a hundred. This brings problems to our entire anti-KOVID system. Starting tomorrow 80 new beds will be introduced in the General Hospital, which will slightly reduce that pressure, but I repeat, health workers are suffering a great blow and the pressure and health will not be able to withstand it, if this trend continues – he said .
Recently, the Emergency Situations Headquarters in Ruma also adopted some stricter measures to prevent the spread of the virus. Therefore, the catering facilities in Ruma were recommended to serve alcohol to guests only until 8pm.
In addition, the rent for the owners of the catering facilities from November until the end of the emergency situation was reduced by 50 percent.
The measures that came into force yesterday are limited to 10 days, but if they are not effective and the situation worsens, they may harden.
The spread of infection from the capital to all of Serbia
If we compare all the data on those infected during these three waves, it is always common for the first and largest hot spot to be Belgrade, which is completely logical for the capital and most populous city in Serbia.
Although the capital is always crammed in the infamous first place in terms of the number of infected, according to this pattern, somewhere in the middle of each wave, the number of patients would decrease at the expense of the cities of the rest of Serbia.
The most recent example of this is yesterday’s data saying that although Belgrade was first on the list of hotspots in Serbia, the number of new cases in the capital was 28% of the total number of infected people across the world. country. Whereas, for example, about twenty days ago, more precisely on November 2, 59 percent of all infected people in Serbia were in Belgrade. And even earlier, somewhere at the beginning of the third wave, that percentage for the capital reached 85 percent!
This overflow of the crown from the capital to the rest of Serbia can be explained by several factors. In fact, the list of these factors is long.
The Christmas season is well underway, so many of those who live in Belgrade, regardless of whether they work or study, will decide to go to their homeland for a day or two to celebrate with their family. And that, then, with tens or hundreds of guests, is the “ideal opportunity” for the Belgrade virus to finally spread to other parts of Serbia.
At the moment, visits to all sporting events to which fans from the interior may flock to Belgrade are prohibited, but business trips to the capital are not frequent enough, which can also be a potential “trigger” for the crown in some parts of our country.
Finally, it is well known that the best pastime is in Belgrade, regardless of whether it is currently limited. And it is no secret that, especially on weekends, “half of Serbia” shines in the capital, be it in cafes, discos or shopping in malls.
