Almost a million old enforcement cases will be successively transferred to public enforcement agents in the next two years, and some of them are older than 15 or even 20 years, writes Večernje novosti.

Vecernje novosti claims that this process is ongoing, and that most of them are non-payers of communal services, where interest rates have accumulated over the years and decades.

Thus, citizens, instead of p. Eg 1,000 dinars of now forgotten debt, with predetermined interest and procedural costs, must be paid between 20,000 and 30,000, says the text.

“So far, 4,573 cases have been referred to public executors on the basis of an executive document and 22,266 cases on the basis of a credible document (public service claims),” said Belgrade First Basic Court spokeswoman Bojana Stanković .

He added that this year, out of a total of 7,523 cases based on an executive document, 2,022 remained at work and another 174,487 on the basis of a credible document.

Communal debts become obsolete within a year, but so far they have not been collected because the cases of creditors who submitted foreclosure proposals were in the drawers every year, writes Večernje novosti.
