Sharac, for a reason he knew, feared for his life: he was driving an armored “Mercedes” and wearing armor, but that didn’t help either, because the attacker approached him from behind and fired two shots in the head.
He threw his gun into the bushes in front of the mall as he fled. During the investigation, the inspectors found him and the expertise showed that all the prints were erased, as well as that the serial number was scraped off.
Security cameras filmed the attacker: with a red jacket, a black cap on his head and a mask on his face. Yesterday he was identified as LI (23), well known to law enforcement agencies for numerous crimes.
That is, the suspect LI has more than 100 criminal acts on his file. As we found out, these are robberies, more serious robberies, illegal possession of weapons, inflicting minor bodily injury. This small criminal was mainly involved in theft and car theft.
Meanwhile, with the help of security cameras in the city, inspectors are trying to reconstruct Šarče’s movement on the fateful Saturday and which streets he used to move from the house to the shopping center.
Investigators are trying to establish if the same vehicle was moving behind him all the time, if someone was following him. Sharac is believed to have been under surveillance and it was his escort who told the attacker where the target was moving.
Furthermore, the shooter is presumed to have well-organized associates who assisted him even after he moved away, as recorded by security cameras, from the garage where he shot Šarc.
It was already the target of the attackers.
Saturday’s shooting isn’t the first time Sharac has been targeted, but the previous two times, with a combination of happy circumstances, it saved his head. It was written about him in more detail for the first time in August 2018, when a bomb was thrown at the home of former basketball player Vukašin – Vule Avdalović. Sharac and Avdalovic were the first neighbors, so investigators did not rule out the possibility that the attacker hit the house. Five months later, when Chaba Der killed Nebojsa Markovic in Banovo brdo, the first target was believed to have been repeated by Sharac, who lives nearby. Although Chaba Der was arrested, it has not yet been clarified if the real target was Sharac.
Sharac was arrested in Italy in 2017 for stealing “Eleutheri” jewelery in Milan on September 21, 2016, from which he took loot worth more than one million euros. He was arrested in Serbia in 2011 as a member of a gang whose loot was 250,000 euros.
Aleksandar Šarac was allegedly close to Lazar Vukićević (31), who disappeared three days earlier, and the police are verifying whether the two events are related.
