The workers’ union of the Serbian Electric Power Industry (EPS) denied today that the “dismemberment” of that company is underway, but that it is about “finalizing” the separation of the distribution system operator (ODS), which started in 2015 and 2016.
“When entering the electricity market, we were forced to separate the SAOs even earlier, because during all this time Elektroprivreda suffered the consequences of the lack of a license,” says the statement signed by the union president, Milan Djordjevic.
As he added, the decision of the Government of Serbia on the separation of the independent DSO, establishes the conditions for obtaining a license for its work, and all that does not mean the dismemberment of the Serbian Electric Power Industry, but rather bring it to a state of business. more efficient.
The president of the EPS Workers’ Union told the Vice President of the Freedom and Justice Party, Marinika Tepic, that if there is something against the acting director of the EPS, Milorad Grcic, they are talking about him and not the EPS .
Tepic previously said that EPS’s “dismemberment” must be stopped, because the part of EPS that deals with electricity production has not yet been reformed and is ready for market competition.
