Earlier this morning, there were signs of worsening of Patriarch Irinej’s heart weakness, and the condition is stabilizing due to the treatment measures applied, the Serbian Orthodox Church announced.

As it is said, the council of medical specialists, headed by the commander of the hospital, Colonel Assistant Professor Dr. Ivo Udovicic, continuously monitors the state of health of the Serbian patriarch.

– In the early morning hours of November 15, 2020, symptoms and signs of worsening chronic heart failure appear. His Holiness’s status stabilizes with the treatment measures applied. The board of medical specialists continuously monitors the state of health of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch, Mr. Irinej, it is stated in the announcement.

It should be remembered that the patriarch was hospitalized in the Karaburma Military Hospital due to a positive nasopharyngeal smear for SARS CoV2, and for the purpose of treatment and clinical follow-up.

This morning, the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić wished that Patriarch Irinej would overcome a terrible illness.
