The epidemiological situation has led state leaders to decide to build two such facilities, in Batajnica and Krusevac, and while the first was opened at the end of last week, the second has an army of around 650 builders of various professions. .

Inside the future hospital, a large number of construction machines and workers in and out of the new hospital facilities are rapidly completing the hospital facilities.

Each of them knows exactly his part of the job and, despite the large crowd at the construction site managed by the company “Termomont”, there are no collisions, delays, nervousness or idling.

The director of the construction sector of this company, Nemanja Jevtić, is also in that hustle and he is a young engineer, but already with enough experience to run a business like this.

“The works are going according to plan and little by little we are preparing for their completion. The painting and final cleaning is being carried out within the facilities where the semi-intensive and intensive care will be located. Over the next week, the teams should start and the hospital should open slowly, ”he says. Jevtic.

He adds that the parking lot is finished, the access roads are being worked on and everything will be ready on time.

“Termomont” hired more than 10 subcontractors, all national companies, and there were up to 700 workers per day on site, and since they are all “former partners”, the cooperation is excellent and the work is progressing smoothly, explains Jevtic.

He adds that the biggest challenge during construction was building an 11,500-square-meter facility in four months, which is multi-functional and must receive life-threatening patients.

“We had excellent cooperation with the city of Krusevac, Mayor Jasmina Palurovic and the investor, the government of Serbia, who provided us with everything we needed to make everything go according to plan.

“I think no one in the country has faced such a challenge of building two facilities with a total area of 40,000 square meters in four months. We were full of energy and we are yet to finish everything properly,” Jevtic emphasized.

The Kruševac Kovid Hospital is a prefabricated construction, made of reinforced concrete and lined with 15-centimeter-thick stone wool facade panels.

“Some 7,000 cubic meters of concrete, 450 tons of steel, 15,000 square meters of panels and 7,000 square meters of roofing were installed in it. Builders of all professions from all over Serbia work here. It is true that there is a lack of carpenters, reinforcements, locksmiths in the market, but we managed. ” says Jevtic.

He adds that some other busy jobs suffered from the construction of two covid hospitals, but that is why they will be put into operation within the established deadline.

“We are proud that these two projects were completed in such a short time that we allow the state and healthcare workers to care for patients properly,” Jevtic said.

The future Krusevac hospital will be under the jurisdiction of the Nis Clinical Center and will employ 120 doctors, 504 nurses and six pharmacists.

220 doctors and more than 550 nurses applied to the competition for these jobs, Nis Clinical Center director Zoran Perišić previously said.

The hospital should be finished on December 17.
