The president of the Freedom and Justice Party wrote to the Brussels institutions about vaccination against the crown in our country
Due to the Christmas holidays, competent European Commission spokespersons were not available yesterday to comment on the latest letter from the chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan Djilas, to European Union officials.
In a public letter the day before yesterday, Djilas asked the EU to include Serbia and other Western Balkan countries in the process of vaccinating against kovid 19 with the same vaccines that will be used in the Union, and to demonstrate that the president’s claims Serbian Aleksandar Vucic since the beginning of the pandemic are not true. that European solidarity is “dead”.
When asked if he expects the EU institutions to respond to the letter he sent them, Djilas told our newspaper: “Until now, European Commission officials have always responded to the letters we sent them.”
– In this case, the best response would be for the EU to provide a significant amount of vaccines to Serbia, says Dragan Djilas.
Non-governmental organization representatives declined to comment on the SAA leader’s move by Danas. On the other hand, the Free Citizens Movement says for our newspaper: “We agree with the intentions of the letter and we are waiting to see the details of the program through which Serbia should receive vaccines from the European Union.”
Speaking on the same subject, the Vice President of the Democratic Party, Dragana Rakić, affirms: “The strategic commitment of Serbia is the membership of the EU.” The citizens of Serbia are interested in getting closer to European standards in all areas, because that means a better standard of living. EU countries show the highest degree of care for their citizens. That is why the DS supports all initiatives aimed at improving the lives of our citizens, including in this particular case related to health care for the population ”.
In a letter to the EU Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhei, and to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Layen, Djilas assessed that there was a “serious threat that the narrative used by the Serbian government could leave Serbian citizens outside the unique European response to the Kovid crisis and the immunization process. “
“The vaccination plan in Europe will begin to take shape in two days, while in Serbia there is no reliable data on when, how and who will be vaccinated and with what vaccine. This creates confusion and spreads fear among the people, especially considering that our authorities have been convincing citizens for months that we will manufacture the vaccine ourselves. “After that, they claimed that Serbia would receive several million vaccines produced in China and, in the end, we would produce the Sputnik vaccine together with Russia,” Djilas said.
He added that the citizens of Serbia are “part of the European family of nations” and that “they should not bear the consequences of the irresponsible behavior of the hybrid regime that governs the country.”
It should be recalled that immunization with the Fajzer vaccine started in Serbia on Friday, and the first to be vaccinated were Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Labor Minister Darija Kisić Tepavčević and epidemiologist Predrag Kon.
So far some 5,000 doses of vaccines have been delivered and it has been announced that users of gerontology centers will be vaccinated first.
That same night, Prime Minister Brnabić responded to Djilas’ letter as a member of the Serbian Progressive Party presidency. Brnabic assessed that Djilas is “ignorant and evil”, which is clear, as assessed, from his call for the EU to include Serbia and the Western Balkan countries in the vaccination process, although today “Serbia, as third European country after “Great Britain and Switzerland have begun to vaccinate their population,” he wrote, Beta reported.
Djilas also criticized because in the EU letter “he complains that there is no reliable data in Serbia on when and with what vaccine to vaccinate.”
Brnabic stated that Djilas “addressed the EU in a similar way before”, which he called “embarrassment of the country for cheap political points”, in which “Djilas is European and world champion”. The SAA leader responded yesterday, also in a public letter (text in the box).
It should be recalled that in the middle of the week slightly less than 5,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Serbia, and the Prime Minister of Serbia was vaccinated with several other officials as an example to the public. The vaccines are immunized in two doses and are intended for people in nursing homes who are the highest risk group in the corona pandemic.
July appeal
The United Opposition of Serbia, which is currently “blocked” and of which the AEA is a part, called on the EC in July to include Serbia and other Western Balkan countries in joint procurement of kovid vaccines. 19. The EU health officials then sent their replies. Likewise, Borko Stefanovic, Vice President of the SAA, recently sent an open letter to the head of the EU Delegation in Serbia, Ambassador Sam Fabricio, stating that Fabrici was becoming a political accomplice of the current regime, the “kidnapper of this country “. The immediate reason for the letter was Fabrizio’s public appearances at the sessions of the National Convention for the Accession of Serbia to the EU and the Parliamentary Commission for European Integration. As far as is known, Fabrizi did not respond to Stefanović’s claims.
Djilas’ response to Prime Minister Ana Brnabic
It is not a shame to pray for your people
“It is not a shame to pray for our people, it is not a bad thing to ask the European Union that the citizens of Serbia have what the citizens of the European Union have in the fight against the pandemic.” It’s a shame, it’s bad to lie to your own people, “wrote Djilas in response to Ana Brnabić’s claims to embarrass Serbia.
“And everything you said yesterday regarding my speech to European officials is a lie. Ms. Brnabic, on September 16, as you say, we did not ask to enter the Kovaks program. The entire Serbian opposition sent a request for everyone to The Western Balkans and Serbia received the same vaccinations as the Europeans on July 23, on September 16 they responded saying that we should apply for that program, and after a few days Serbia September, and it really became part of that program. Today, you mention European solidarity, we never said that European solidarity is dead, but your boss and the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said it. We called Europe and asked to have the same vaccines as in Europe.
Its president said we will receive five million vaccines from a country that is already testing vaccines in humans, and not a single one arrived today, December 25. His Minister of Health, then his government said that Serbia will produce the vaccine itself if necessary. It is December 25, we have thousands of deaths, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of infected vaccines are gone. He said that, together with Russia, we will produce a satellite vaccine in Serbia. Let me tell you again, it’s December 25, there is no vaccine. One Canada provided nine vaccines per capita. It has provided 4,800 vaccines this year. It boasts that vaccination started almost first in Europe in Serbia after Great Britain and Switzerland. You just didn’t say we were the first to finish the vaccination because the vaccine ran out. I wrote to the Europeans about it and that is why I asked for help for Serbia and for the Western Balkan countries, believing that we really are part of Europe and that we have a right to what its citizens have in this situation.
We write what is true so that no one knows when the vaccine will arrive in Serbia and what the vaccination plan will be. When you say that all this is known, I invite you to take a white paper and write on it for each day from today, so in January, how many vaccines come, what vaccines, and on what date, and say which one is the vaccination plan. , first vaccinate doctors and health workers because they have been fighting this for eight months and sadly, many are losing their lives in that fight. When everyone over the age of 65 gets vaccinated, what happens to people with chronic diseases? “Everyone has the right, and the State has the obligation to tell them when they can receive the vaccine if, of course, they want to,” it is stated, among other things, in Djilas’ letter. P.S.
When your bosses ruled, we weren’t even at the UN
“Ms. Brnabic, when your bosses were in power, Serbia was not a member of the European Union, but neither was it a member of the United Nations. In 2012, Serbia received the status of candidate for member of the European Union. Today Serbia has nothing Today, Serbia would not get it if it applied for that status, “says the letter from the SAA leader.
