In the last 24 hours, there has been a slight increase in new infections in Serbia. Of those evaluated, a total of 6,194, 79 were positive. Two patients died. There are 20 patients on respirators.
– That’s about 1.2, about 1.3 percent. It’s a leap and, to be honest, it doesn’t surprise me. However, it is too early to say that in just one day, but you should bear in mind that everything depends directly on us. – said the epidemiologist Predrag Kon for RTS.
The biggest jump is registered in the south of the country.
– Leskovac, in part Vranje, will be of interest for monitoring, because there are large organizations, factories, such as ‘Jura’ in Leskovac with 2,850 workers, which we will fully test in the coming days and determine what the situation is with them. – points out the epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorović.
Epidemiologist Sladjan Stankovic of the Vranje Institute of Public Health says the Institute’s teams are constantly in the field and steps have been taken to prevent a factory from operating.
– They will stop working for the next two weeks, which is the incubation of this disease. At another private company, tests are done to look for new patients. – adds Stanković.
If in the next ten days the number of new patients begins to rise sharply, restrictive measures could be reintroduced, epidemiologists estimate.
– If it increased to more than two percent, even three percent, then it would be necessary. We must not allow growth to start again. – Kon points out.
The government has decided that Serbian citizens can enter the country and move without restrictions with a negative PCR test, no longer than 72 hours.
If they have not performed the test, they should be isolated for 14 days.
