Those who come to Serbia will have to undergo a PCR test that does not take more than 72 hours, and if they do not have it, they must isolate themselves if they are our citizen or isolation with health supervision for a foreign citizen, reveals the epidemiologist.

In the past 24 hours in Serbia, the coronavirus was confirmed in 62 people, bringing the total number of infected to 10,176. Three more people died, a total of 218.

It is encouraging that there are fewer and fewer people on respirators, so there are 29 of them today, even ten fewer than yesterday. 3,290 patients were cured and the percentage of positivity is 1.23 percent.

Tomorrow the decision to cross the border

When asked about travel and border crossings, epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon He says there was no crisis staff meeting today where this will be discussed.

– Those who come to Serbia must undergo a PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old, and if they do not, they must be isolated if they are our citizen or isolation with health supervision for a foreign citizen. Or that it is tested in our territory, so if it is negative, it does not have to be supervised. We have a meeting tomorrow, that will be the decision then. As for leaving Serbia, it depends exclusively on the countries to which people will travel. Evidence will be provided, but no locations or prices have been defined. It will be decided tomorrow by the crisis staff – said Dr. Kon.

The condition of the patients of the Gerontology Center Nis is monitored

When asked about the Gerontology Center in Nis, epidemiologist Kon said the patients’ condition was being monitored.

– There are seven more patients from there at KC Nis. I do not have the current death toll, although we announced earlier – Kon said.

Regarding the situation in Jura de Leskovac, which has a greater number of infected people, it is said that the number of this company is 36 and that its condition is being monitored.

– 113 are in the Leskovac hospital, 7 of them await the results. 36 of them are from Jura – said Dr. Kon.

When it comes to the operation of greedy hospitals, the director of the Infectious Disease Clinic Dr. Goran Stevanovic He says:

– In seven days, up to two weeks, we expect Kovid hospitals to be excluded from the system. What can be postponed has been postponed for now, but we are also looking forward to the return of that. The goal is to make a banas between the infected and the uninfected. It is a daily evaluation, and people should know that the process of returning Kovid to regular hospitals is required. It takes about seven days, because it is important to evaluate the employees, but also to disinfect it completely – said Dr. Stevanović.

Relaxed people go too fast

The state of emergency was lifted five days ago, and Dr. Kon says he is satisfied with how everything works in the capital.

– We differ in expectations after the lifting of the state of emergency. We look with different eyes. Everything is going too fast, especially relaxing people. A large number of citizens respect the measures, but that somehow is not visible. As for Belgrade, I am satisfied with the city’s public transport and respect for the recommendations. I noticed that the cafe and restaurant owners follow the recommendations. The weather is nice and it’s tempting to get out, so the need to socialize increased. At first, when the salons and gyms were opened, we saw no problem. The good news is that we still have a reduction, Dr. Kon said, adding that the entire situation is being monitored.

– When the percentage falls below one, the elderly will also be able to use public transport – he added.

Dr. Kon emphasizes that the epidemiological situation is still uncertain and that caution is required.

– The situation is unstable, but it is clear that this is coming out. We see that people have relaxed, so we have calmed down. We seem contradictory, we ask for a return to life, but it is important that it be necessary. Now we are in the tenth week, in the twelfth we are already waiting sporadically. What you can expect is for this to come out, but those are our expectations. In July, I think there will be no more deaths, said Dr. Kon.

We do not have a state of emergency, but we do have emergency measures.

Dr. Kon says that the Serbian model does not differ from the Chinese one.

– We simply do not have a state of emergency, we are on a downward trajectory, all this is now to be expected. We cannot act as if it is growing. I don’t see a difference with the Chinese model – said Dr. Kon.

– I think May 31 is a suitable date when there will be no virus. Of course, we lock ourselves in everything, because we don’t know what kind of contacts there will be between people. There are still no cinemas, theaters, sporting events. We are not under a state of emergency, but we are under emergency measures, added Dr. Kon.

He says research on cognitive immunity to COVID-19 has begun.

– Selection of participants is already underway. I have no idea how far we’ve come, but a methodology and a protocol have been made, he said.

If children return to school, precautions will be rigorous.

If the children return to school for a couple of weeks, he says that the children can expect more precautions as with everyone.

– There is no additional need for something special. Until May 31, the question is what will happen to the virus. The measures will be general, he said.

Regarding Dr. Branimir Nestorović’s proposal that sunbathing kills the virus, Dr. Kon says that moderation is key.

“One should be aware that excessive sunbathing can be harmful, but that has nothing to do with the virus,” he said.
