“I hope we are not doing much worse than in July, but these figures are not encouraging now,” said epidemiologist and crisis staff member Dr. Predrag Kon.
Speaking of the figures that have been at their highest level in recent days since the appearance of the corona virus in our country, he reiterated that celebrations are the greatest risk, but that it seems that before them there will be a serious rise.
– That will limit those celebrations. Deaths come later. We will see what is happening now in two or three weeks as a result of the increase in the number of deaths. I hope that we are not much worse than in July, but these figures are no longer encouraging now – he said.
Kon said we should think about banning the movement somehow, shortening something, going to the store alone …
– For now, the state of emergency is not an option. We cannot surrender if it is necessary to introduce a state of emergency – said the epidemiologist to Kurir.
Hospitals are slowly filling up
Explaining that we have almost the same number of patients at the moment as in June, and we do not have full hospitals and emergency stables, Kon, as a guest of the morning show, said that we must not be deceived that the situation will not get worse.
“The surveillance system is better, on the other hand, make no mistake, there will come a time when hospitals will fill up. It should be prolonged as long as possible. Up to 30 or 40 more people enter every day than are laid off. In 10 days it will be 300 or 400. What is boiling in Europe should tell us what the potential of this virus is, much higher than in June and July. It can be said that a certain immunity has developed in our country after that coup in July, but we must not relax ”, concludes Kon.
He also stated today that it is clear that positivity is growing from week to week.
“I mean all those who define themselves as suspects in kovid clinics, so last week it was over 21 percent. “A small number of people have a real boycott, I would say, regarding the use of protection,” Kon said, adding that even in yesterday’s extraordinary session, crisis staff could not agree on how to solve the problem. of gathering large numbers of people into clubs.
“We have not been able to find a model of a supervisory system for institutions and the entertainment industry, and there is a smaller percentage of people who are the administrators of these facilities and who ignore all the measures.” How to reach them will be a chore in the next period, and we are getting worse. We must ensure that the measures that exist must be implemented. Lawyers should be asked about the legal framework. I am a doctor and a member of the Crisis Staff, and the implementation of legal measures has nothing to do with me, ”said Kon.
We remind you that two days ago 512 people tested positive for the coronavirus, while yesterday the figure dropped to 416.
Until yesterday, the black record for the start of the corona epidemic in Serbia was held on July 26, when we had 467 new infected in 24 hours.
