Epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon announced today that special health supervision will be introduced for our people living and working abroad, and that they will start coming to Serbia in large numbers during the holidays.
Dr. Kon, who is also a member of the Crisis Staff for the fight against coronavirus, spoke on the morning program of TV Prva about the epidemiological situation in our country, which is currently “an oasis in the region, but also in all Europe”.
However, considering that the season of glory will begin soon, which will condition the arrival of the guest workers, the question arises as to whether we will “stay well” even then.
– The question on all the questions is what it will be like when the celebrations begin. There will be adequate supervision for those coming from abroad during the celebrations. It’s risky, and like before Easter, there will be a large influx of our people – said Kon.
For the moment, as he himself says, the situation is favorable, and now we do not have critical cities. He adds that the activity of the virus is at a low level, but that we cannot say that it has weakened.
– The results themselves show that we are still disciplined. I am the only one who mentions “punishment”, but the punishments serve to ensure the implementation of some measures – says Dr. Kon.
When asked how to regulate the use of masks in taxi vehicles, because taxi drivers complain that around 70 percent of customers do not respect this measure, Dr. Kon said that it is a personal responsibility.
– Taxi drivers have the right to request the use of masks. Certainly, whoever enters has the obligation to carry it – he says.
Vaccine only next year
– It is realistic that the vaccine will arrive only next year, in smaller quantities. I don’t know what the agreements with the companies are, but the “obstacle” to call it that is our regulations. This slows the rate of arrival of the vaccine, explains Dr. Kon, adding that “the crown will last for years to come.”
