The mask cannot harm children’s health, says immunologist Srdja Jankovic, adding that the mask is the backbone of preventive measures to prevent corona virus infection, until the vaccine arrives.

Janković claims that the mask can be a nuisance for the comfort of children, but that it cannot be discussed at this time because it protects against a dangerous infectious disease, which can be deadly for some.
“The mask has a purpose, it is justified and it is necessary. It is the backbone of the prevention of covid 19 infection. Until we have the vaccine, it is the only thing we can do to prevent the disease,” he said to Pink.
Do you think the mask is harmful to health?
He emphasizes that the profession must be behind the wearing of masks at this time, because the alternative is to let the virus spread in schools, which is “unacceptable and can lead to disaster.”
He notes that children generally do not have a severe clinical picture and are not endangered by the corona virus, but if the infection is massive, there are babies among the babies who were born with little immunity and can be life threatening.
For children who cannot wear masks for health reasons, the alternative is a visor, and Janković says studies have shown that the protection provided by a visor is less than a mask.
The state announced more rigorous control and sanctions for those who do not respect the measures, and Janković says that a more decisive reaction has begun because no one wants an increase in the number of infected and sick again.
“We also want to see the effect of going to school and if the preventive measures have worked,” he concluded.
