Several hundred Dorcol residents in Belgrade held a protest on Thursday evening, to express their dissatisfaction with, as previously announced, the illegal and non-transparent works for the network installation on the trolleybus line in Venizelosova and Georges Clemens Street .
Around 300 Dorcol residents were unhappy with the introduction of the trolleybus line in this part of Belgrade. They ask that the works stop and that the authorization process be reviewed and repeated. In the announcement of the meeting, they said that citizens have not received any information from the City of Belgrade about the works, and also demand that they be presented with the plans that were adopted without their knowledge and without the participation of the professional. public.
Vuk Tapušković, from the association “Neighbors of Dorćol”, addressed the assembled citizens and informed them that they had filed a complaint with the Tribunal Administration, requesting the urgent suspension of the works.
“According to the latest report from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, we have a good chance of stopping them in this way. We hope that the work will be suspended next week. However, it is worth nothing if we are not so many all the time, although not we will do a media campaign to stop it all. We are fighting on that front, they have returned to work and are close to finishing the works, but this fight concerns the whole city. When they make a new terminal in Dunavska and when all the trolleys go down and Trg Republike buses, we will not be able to live. We have to fight for this, “said Tapuskovic.
One of the citizens recalled that this problem has been going on for more than a year and a half and that it is nothing new, and that it is not happening in all of Belgrade.
“The trolls that are being built here have a problem in some basic legal acts that have been approved, and in the building license that we are insistently checking that it has not been complied with, that it is not in accordance with the law, urban planning regulations. The traffic is down here ”, said, among other things, one of those gathered.
According to the Nova.rs portal reporter, after meeting at the corner of Cara Dušana and Gundulićevo venac streets, the gathered citizens walked along Cara Dušana Street to Kalemegdan, and then returned.
The gathered citizens also developed the “Neighbors of Dorcol” banner.
The protest was peaceful and traffic stopped in this part of the city.
