The prosecution accuses her of a serious crime against public safety.

The tragedy in which a man died occurred on July 11, 2016, in the courtyard of the house number 92 on Bukovački put street in Petrovaradin. Two American Staffordshire Terriers, roaming freely, although there are boxes for them in the yard, around six in the morning, supposedly seeing a cat in Marcheta’s yard, they barked fiercely at him, then jumped over the wire fence and they attacked the old man, who tried. to defend the cat and separate it from the dogs.

At the trial, Igora said that, until the judicial expert presented the information about the mongrel dogs in question, neither she nor her husband knew that they were a dangerous species. According to what she said, her husband was not at home and, at his request, which he relayed to him in a telephone conversation, allowed the dogs to enter the fenced yard. He didn’t even think that dogs could hurt someone or jump over a fence.

– In our area at that time, everything was happening, there were even shootings – said Maksimović in his defense. – For our, and especially for the safety of the children, we have dogs.
